Back to the 60s Dinner

July 16, 2019

St. Paul United Church of Christ, located at Mechanic and Perry streets, in historic downtown Wapakoneta, will host a Back to the 60s Dinner on Tuesday, July 16, at 6 pm.

Local residents and visitors alike are invited to take a culinary step back in time with a meal typical of what Americans ate some 50 years ago. The buffet-style meal of meatloaf, whipped potatoes and gravy, green beans, perfection salad, dessert, and drinks is $10 per person (children or adults). Proceeds benefit the church’s mission efforts.

St. Paul United Church of Christ, known then as St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church, became the Armstrong Family’s home church as of their move to Wapakoneta in 1944. Dinnergoers will also have the opportunity to view a small exhibit about 1969 and visit the church sanctuary. (St. Paul’s historic sanctuary will be open to the public for free tours every Friday in July from 1 to 4 pm as well.)

Tickets are available from the St. Paul office, Mechanic Street, during regular business hours, 9 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, or 9 am to Noon on Friday. The church’s telephone number is 419/738-2215. Seating for the dinner is limited.
