Empty Bowls Mercer County “Create A Bowl”

January 19, 2019

Register Now for Empty Bowls Mercer County “Create A Bowl” Event

Empty Bowls Mercer County is the signature fundraiser for Our Home Family Resource Center, designed to raise support for and awareness of the programs, projects, and services that Our Home provides to folks here in Mercer County. Empty Bowls Mercer County is actually two complementary events— a “Create A Bowl” painting event and a “Dinner & Auction”.

Our 2nd Annual Empty Bowls Mercer County will kick-off with a marathon “Create A Bowl” painting party on Saturday, January 19, at Brew Nation where over 100 community members will come together to create 220 hand-painted bowls for the “Empty Bowls Dinner & Auction” that will be held on March 30, 2019.

We hope you will join us! “Create A Bowl” is a fun event for individuals and groups. Folks often make a day of it, enjoying Brew Nation refreshments before, during, or after painting. Artistic ability is not required to participate, all you need is the desire to make a difference. And, make a difference, you will. By pitching in at “Create A Bowl”, you will be raising valuable funds for Our Home while adding your personal touch to unique, hand-painted bowls our guests will receive at the “Empty Bowls Dinner & Auction” in March.

It’s easy to support Our Home’s “Create A Bowl” event. Your first step is to reserve a time to paint!

Come alone or gather a group of friends. Each participant will donate or collect money ($20 minimum) and will paint two bowls. Individuals with $50.00 or more in donations will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win prizes. All proceeds support Our Home’s work in the community.

Painting will begin at 8:00am and end at 6:00pm. Individuals or groups will register for a 2-hour session. Up to 30 painters can be scheduled per session, call 419-586-4663 to register yourself or your group: 8am-10am, 10am-12pm, 12pm-2pm, 2pm-4pm, 4pm-6pm.

Why Empty Bowls? Why did we choose this event to tell our story? Because an empty bowl represents unmet needs, and there are people throughout our county who have empty bowls—a hungry child or senior, a person between addresses, someone struggling with illness, or someone who feels helpless and hopeless. What could be more fitting than this pair of events generating funds to meet needs of folks here in Mercer County, to fill those empty bowls, and to further Our Home’s mission to “assist people in their time of need, motivate them to develop and achieve their goals, and inspire their confidence and self-sufficiency”?

Space is limited to 30 painters per time slot, so register soon to secure your preferred time!
