Fall Cemetery Walk

The Auglaize County Historical Society and Greenlawn Cemetery will present a fall Cemetery Walk on Sunday, November 3, at 4 pm.  The event is free and open to the public. Participants should watch for signs indicating where to park. The event will last approximately 45 minutes and will be held showers or shine. If more serious weather is predicted, the Historical Society will post an update on its Facebook page by 3 pm on November 3 to indicate whether the event will occur.

Greenlawn Cemetery is one of Wapakoneta’s historic cemeteries, and is located off West Auglaize Street, west of the fairgrounds. The tour will highlight some of the notable Wapakoneta residents of the late 19^th and early 20^th centuries who are interred there. Indeed, costumed characters will portray some of the community’s former citizens. These high school actors include Brittany Wooten, Kore Thomas, Jenna Thompson, Timothy Harrod, Jonathan Bailey, Jackson Cooper, Kelsie Custer, Jordyn Nuss, and Cassandra Woolum.

The Auglaize County Historical Society was founded in 1963. The Auglaize County Historical Society collects, preserves, interprets, and shares the history of Auglaize County and its people through exhibits, programs, and publications.
