The Auglaize County Historical Society and Wapakoneta’s Greenlawn Cemetery will present the inaugural Cemetery Walk on Sunday, May 6, 2 pm The event is free and open to the public. Watch for signs indicating where to park. The event will last approximately 45 minutes and will be held showers or shine. If more serious weather is predicted, contact the Historical Society, 419/738-9328, by 1 pm May 6 to determine whether the event will go forward.
Greenlawn Cemetery is one of Wapakoneta’s historic cemeteries, and is located off West Auglaize Street, west of the county fairgrounds. The tour will highlight some of the notable Wapakoneta residents of the late 19th and early 20th centuries who are interred there.
The Auglaize County Historical Society was founded in 1963. The Auglaize County Historical Society collects, preserves, interprets, and shares the history of Auglaize County and its people through exhibits, programs, and publications.
